Green Gables Restaurant Pittsburgh / Laurel Highlands Wedding | Elizabeth & David

Nestled in the beautiful Laurel Highlands, just 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, is a hidden gem of a wedding venue – Green Gables..  which features up to five different areas where guests can have their weddings – & overall accommodate up to 400 wedding guests in the process.

Elizabeth & David’s Ceremony & Reception were a little more modest – at about 250 guests – and they enlisted the popular Pittsburgh Wedding Band “City Heat” to perform for their special day.

My wife Liz and I would just like to thank you for your excellent services at our wedding at the Green Gables. We knew from the beginning that we wanted a band for our big day, and you all did not disappoint. Thanks for taking all of our suggestions, especially for doing such a great job with our first dance songs. We received a number of compliments from our guests about the quality and variety of music, and all of the special events like the garter toss and anniversary dance were perfect.

You helped make it a day we’ll always remember, and we are truly grateful.  – David & Elizabeth

Bakersville Fire Hall Pittsburgh Wedding~ Claire and Michael

Claire and Michael’s wedding was a sweet country affair. The couple exchanged vows at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church with many of their friends and family in attendance. Their reception took place at the Bakersville Banquet Hall with pretty white tables and gold chandeliers. There were many little touches throughout their wedding, from the cake with a porcelain bell topper and handwritten place cards. For entertainment Claire and Michael found a fun and classy live band to perform at their reception- the Modern Times Band. Family and friends had a blast listening to 80’s and 90’s music, jazzy tunes, and participating in a dollar dance!

We love this photo taken by their photographer, Glessner Photography, of all the bride’s trinkets. Her something blue; a garter, her pearl necklace, earrings, and bracelet. Even her shoes with a vintage brooch were so pretty.

Bakersville Fire Hall Pittsburgh Wedding Ladies Shoes

Truly a throwback to the 80’s, with big bows and ruffles, the bridesmaids really knocked it out of the park with a fun twist on the traditional bridesmaid dress. So great for dancing, too! The bridesmaids wore different styles, some short and some long and the only thing they had in common- the color, white!

After the ceremony guests headed for the Bakersville Banquet Hall for the reception. The ballroom was decorated with white tabletops and colorful napkins. The bride and groom had their own table with their wedding cake, a delicious buttercream confection done by My Daughter’s Wedding Cakes. The dance space was huge and had plenty of room for Modern Times Band to set up!

Parkersburg Country Club WV Wedding~ Kasandra and Eric

Kasandra and Eric thought of every detail for their special day. The couple chose a beautiful color scheme of deep reds and plum wine, which complimented their romantic reception venue perfectly. They also chose a top live Pittsburgh wedding band to perform all night long for their family and friends. The weather could not have been more perfect, with many of their photos taken outdoors under the canopy of trees. Liv Hefner Photography captured the bride and groom, so happy and so in love.

We must pause for a moment to take a look at the bride’s bouquet. Truly, so romantic. The bouquet was a mixture of calla lilies, red and pink roses, and plum dahlias. The colors blended together beautifully, every flower in full bloom.

The bride was gorgeous with curls falling naturally to her shoulders and chandelier earrings sparkling in the sun. She wore a mantilla veil with lace embroidery and a form fitting dress. Her wedding gown was delicately stitched with lace appliques, capped sleeves, and crystals.

The bridesmaids wore dresses the color of wine, each a slightly different style. Their dresses were long and lightweight, perfect to move about the dance floor! The ladies wore their hair up, away from their face, with soft tendrils escaping free. Their bouquets featured the same colors as the brides, with pink roses, dahlias, and chrysanthemums.

The men wore light gray suits with pinstriped ties. The happy groom pinned a red rose to his lapel instead of a white one like the rest of his groomsmen, and a solid gray tie. What a handsome group!

The bride and groom held their reception at the Parkersburg Country Club. The venue looked beautiful with tall glass vases and low floral centerpieces. The flowers were arranged by Passiflora, who did a wonderful job incorporating the bride’s color scheme. Gold chargers rested under the white china with a small token of remembrance on each place setting. The napkins were red, the table cloths shimmery gold, and the chairs white with gold sashes.

How fun was the chevron runner? That is a great touch, a modern flair to this traditional wedding! We also love the fancy script table numbers in gold frames.

City Heat was ready to start the night with bridal party introductions atop the venue stage. How perfect for the band, with plenty of space for every member and instrument.
