Nestled in the beautiful Laurel Highlands, just 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, is a hidden gem of a wedding venue – Green Gables.. which features up to five different areas where guests can have their weddings – & overall accommodate up to 400 wedding guests in the process.
Elizabeth & David’s Ceremony & Reception were a little more modest – at about 250 guests – and they enlisted the popular Pittsburgh Wedding Band “City Heat” to perform for their special day.
Many BIG thank you’s to the photographers of Cover Studio
who graciously provided us with these awesome wedding photos of the reception.
The wedding started out in the adjacent “Mountain Playhouse” – which, along with the also on site accommodations named Huddleson Court – make for one-stop wedding awesomeness for weddings in the Laurel Highlands.
All these beautiful florals were also provided by the Green Gables
(they make it so easy, you basically just have to show up!) 🙂
A unique 3 tier square cake with fall foliage and elegantly sculptured fondant by cake by pastry chef extraordinaire Paulette Seminsky of Paulette’s Cakes made for a impressive presentation & tasty dessert.
Guests of all ages enjoyed the unique ambiance of rustic elegance before heading out onto the dance floor with the band City Heat.
~Musical Highlights:~
Bride & Groom First Dance: Tender– Blur
Bride & Father Dance: Look To The Rainbow– Finian’s Rainbow
Groom & Mother Dance: My Mother’s Eyes– Tom Jones
No, the City Heat Band didn’t bring their own lighted tree – but it sure looks awesome behind them!
My wife Liz and I would just like to thank you for your excellent services at our wedding at the Green Gables. We knew from the beginning that we wanted a band for our big day, and you all did not disappoint. Thanks for taking all of our suggestions, especially for doing such a great job with our first dance songs. We received a number of compliments from our guests about the quality and variety of music, and all of the special events like the garter toss and anniversary dance were perfect.
You helped make it a day we’ll always remember, and we are truly grateful. – David & Elizabeth
